No One Can Value You the Way You Do

No one is going to make you more valuable than you already are. How can they?
No one knows your inner value, strengths and power better than you do. How can you expect others to tell you how valuable you are when they don’t live inside of you?
They don’t think, act or live like you. Only you know you based on the choices you make every day.
Where do your choices and actions come from? They start with the thoughts you pay attention to every day. You are only as valuable as the strongest thoughts you create in any given moment.
So if you wait for others to validate your value and worth, you will be waiting a long time. I can guarantee you that no one can appraise your true value better that you can.
You have to be willing to be your own, honest witness and distance yourself emotionally, so you can observe the real you. You have to be willing to watch your own movie and ask:
As the main character of my movie how is the plot I am involved with serving me? Is it truly supporting who I am? Is the purpose of the movie, something I truly value?
When you produce a movie with a strong purpose aligned with your heart, you will quickly notice the value of your role has significantly grown without the outside world having to raise its price.

Learning to Pay Attention to What You Pay Attention to
Over the last decade of coaching adults with ADHD I have consistently observed patterns of negative thoughts & beliefs that many of them would hold on to.
When I witness my clients, I will usually notice a consistent pattern of destructive beliefs that subconsciously direct their lives. In my experience, most adults
with ADHD are not aware of the beliefs that dominate their lives or how their beliefs do or do not serve them well.
Over the last 15 years of coaching adults with ADHD, I have consistently observed patterns of negative thoughts & beliefs that many of them hold on to.
When I witness my clients, I will usually notice a consistent pattern of destructive beliefs that subconsciously direct their lives. In my experience, most adults
with ADHD are not aware of the beliefs that dominate their lives or how their beliefs do or do not serve them well.
Most of the time, they are not paying attention to what they pay attention to in any given moment. One of the main coaching principles that have become a foundation
in my life is: “What you pay attention to grows.” If you are not aware of what you pay attention to, on a daily basis, you will not be aware of what is growing or not growing
in your life. It is very important to become aware of your most dominant daily patterns of thinking and identify the source of these thoughts. This invaluable, life changing
skill of becoming your own witness is the long-term goal that coaches want for their clients. When you learn to become your own witness, you will have the ability to
dramatically improve the quality of your life. You will be able to trace back many of the actions you do or don’t take. You will discover the power to choose what you will
focus on in any given moment.
As the famous American writer, poet and philosopher, Ralph Waldo Emerson stated: “The ancestor to every action is a thought.” When you can trace an action back to its
original thought, you will discover the source of that action. So, when you know something does not feel right in your body, pause and notice it, identify it and challenge it.
Ask yourself: How is what I am paying attention to, right now, serving me?” If it is not serving you well, you always have the power to change it so that it does.

You choose your thoughts way before you experience them

Have you lived a life of sorrow and sadness for so long you are not aware of it?
Have you traveled down the same road for so long you don’t know there are other ways to travel?
If you don’t know there is a different way to get where ever you want to go then you are limited by the map you use to take your journey.
To change your sad, sorrowful route requires a conscious choice and awareness to choose joy over sorrow every time you travel.
However, if you think nothing can be changed then whatever path you have forged is the one you will continue to travel. Change is your conscious compass.
The direction of your compass can guide you to joy or sorrow.
Once you select the path the amount of work is about the same. Unfortunately, the results are not. It is changing the old path you have traveled that is the most difficult challenge.
It is the hardest part. Once you know the path that best serves you and know you can travel on it, whenever you choose, you will never go back to the bleak road that has held you back.
You will choose the light of joy to carry you out of the dark veil of sorrow so that you may travel to a more fulfilling and joyful place.
