Perfectionism Prevents Action**

There is no such thing as the perfect plan or action to produce the perfect result. Sometimes I have so many things going on in my head and in my life that I don’t know where to begin. This often leads me towards a strong tendency to try and do everything perfectly: “If I can’t do all of these things perfectly than I won’t do them at all.”

I have learned to become very aware of this pattern and stop it from escalating. I have to remind myself about all the great things going on at ADDCA. They are a result of my passion; our mission to serve people with ADHD who truly need our coaching talents. The moment I remember to focus on my mission, I realize that if I get perfectionistic nothing will get done.

Do you have a clear mission or message of meaning that stops you in your tracks? Focus on what your true mission is. When you are overloaded, it will bring you back to where you belong. Nothing is perfect and there is no perfect plan. Trying to be perfect will paralyze your progress. There is only the action you choose to take and the results you generate. If you focus on revising the actions related to your mission, it will get you closer to your heartfelt picture.
